I was probably the first person to say “that’s a pass, dog” when people told me about Trello. I found it confusing to stay organized and was unsure how this was a helpful tool for delegating.
It wasn’t until another assistant I had used it that she helped me unlock and understand the greater power that Trello offered and how to work smarter not harder.
Trello is an incredible tool to organize all the tasks you have to do, a great space to manage and organize everything for your business and to uplevel your leadership and delegation game. I’m going to show you 5 easy ways to organize your Trello Boards.
- Management Board: This is a placeholder for all of your important business information. On this board list all of your logins for various tools, from zoom to flodesk. It also links out to SOPs where you provide step by step guides on how to handle all tasks. Check out these great trello templates to get started.
- Personal Board: Each member of your team should have a personal board. This is where you’ll put the status of what tasks are to be completed and can tag other members of your team.
- Themed Boards: For each task give it a board. So for example social media will be its own board and all graphics, captions and links for social media (instagram, linkedin, Facebook, TikTok) will all be on that board. Another example of a themed board is written content. Anything that needs to be written will be added to this board so newsletters, blog posts. The idea is to do work that’s similar to other work.
- To Do Lists: Create to do lists using three tabs “to do”, “doing” and “done” as a way to keep track of what needs to be done as well as other members of your team.
While it might be hard to start being productive, once you get started and start practicing it’s going to feel second nature. Not only will you feel more organized but you’ll be able to accomplish more as well.
