Digital Event: The Art of Getting Over Yourself: How to Cultivate Belonging Through Play with Eli Walker

Event Title: Second Degrees Society Digital Event: The Art of Getting Over Yourself: How to Cultivate Belonging Through Play with Eli Walker

What’s Happening?

Community is circumstantial; belonging is built. After founding and scaling her internationally-acclaimed wellness brand, Drunk Yoga® (now The Uplift Experience), by infusing social ritual (ahem, wine), games and strategic icebreakers into a conventionally introspective experience (ahem, yoga), Eli learned that the key to breaking down invisible barriers to connection and creating a sense of belonging is to break the rules. When we challenge convention by being brave enough to name the unsaid, get over ourselves and engage community, we get off autopilot and into the present moment: the only place where belonging can be sparked.

Why is belonging crucial? Because high-levels of belonging in the workplace create a 56% increase in job performance, lead to a 50% drop in turnover risk, and can save a company $52 million a year. Also? It contributes to an overall sense of mental and emotional wellbeing. In other words, it makes us happy, and when we’re happy, we’re more productive, better problem-solvers and better collaborators.

“The Art of Getting Over Yourself: How to Build Belonging in the Modern World” is an outrageously entertaining & interactive presentation that demystifies the concept of “belonging” in our workplaces, communities and personal lives, empowering audience members with tangible tools to engage their purpose and their people with ease, playfulness and integrity.

When you work with Eli, you can expect to play, move, laugh, and walk away feeling empowered with tools to create a more connected world.
