Meet Emily Guerra: LA-Based Founder of The Productivity Flow

Emily Guerra is the founder of The Productivity Flow, an LA-based coaching business dedicated to helping freelancers and solopreneurs boost productivity while maintaining work-life balance. With a journey shaped by resilience, creativity, and a commitment to mindful growth, Emily’s mission is to inspire others to achieve their goals without sacrificing their well-being.

Emily’s Favorite Way to Practice Self-Care

Emily’s self-care routine is all about finding balance, especially during the workweek. Every Monday and Tuesday, she wraps up her workdays early to spend time with her 11- and 9-year-old siblings.

“Escaping work and playing like a kid again has improved my mindset and mood more than I expected,” Emily says. “Plus, I’ve grown so much closer to my siblings than I could’ve dreamed.”

By prioritizing quality time and play, Emily shows how even small shifts can make a big difference in mental and emotional well-being.

How Emily Got Into Her Career

Emily’s path to founding The Productivity Flow is a story of adaptability and vision. She started as a wedding planner, but when COVID-19 halted weddings, she pivoted to freelancing social media services.

While freelancing, she developed a passion for productivity and work-life balance, coaching her clients on the same principles. One client’s suggestion to start her own coaching business sparked the idea for The Productivity Flow. Today, she helps fellow freelancers and solopreneurs optimize their lives for sustainable success.

What Emily Loves About Her Job

“The best part of my job is helping people find balance and those ‘ah-ha’ moments,” Emily shares. She thrives on empowering her clients to make small, 1% shifts that lead to meaningful, lasting change.

Emily’s Favorite Quote: “The Sky Is Not the Limit. Your Mind Is.”

This Marilyn Monroe quote is a daily reminder for Emily to overcome self-limiting beliefs. “So often, the reason we feel stuck is because of the negative story we tell ourselves,” she explains. Emily uses this motto to inspire herself—and her clients—to break past mental barriers and dream bigger.

What Motivates Emily to Get Out of Bed

Emily keeps her vision for the future written down next to her bed as a constant source of motivation. “Since I’m in my late 20s, I still have some of the most exciting things ahead of me,” she says. Her drive to build a stable, fulfilling life is what keeps her moving forward.

What Community Means to Emily

In the early days of her coaching career, Emily felt isolated and struggled with doubts about solopreneurship. Everything changed when she started connecting with like-minded individuals.

“Community means not feeling alone anymore,” Emily says. “It’s about finding inspiration and support to be your best self.” Surrounded by supportive peers, Emily now thrives on the shared growth and encouragement that comes from being part of a community.

Emily’s Book Recommendation: Everything is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo

This empowering book is one of Emily’s favorites to recommend. Its central message resonates deeply with her coaching philosophy: there’s always a way forward, no matter the challenge.

Emily’s Message to the World

“Hustle culture needs to die!” Emily is passionate about redefining success to include balance, well-being, and intentional living.
