What’s Happening?

We have ALL been assigned or taken on tasks that use up time and energy and which don’t reward us with meaningful professional development. It’s time to start saying “”no”“ to these tasks to focus on actions that bring the recognition, authority and pay each of us deserves.

While this is a presentation, I encourage everyone to participate and share anecdotes and questions about their own challenges with when, why and how to say no. There will be opportunities to brainstorm about effective ways to turn down a request or assignment as well as time at the end of the session for Q&A.

About Annette:

Hi, I’m Annette! I’m a Career and Leadership Coach who loves connecting with people and connecting people to each other and to great big ideas. Being able to share what I’ve learned and build community brings me energy and joy. I currently design my coaching, workshops, programs and conversations around the following:

1. building values driven lives and careers

2. dismantling systemic oppression through community action and

3. giving people tools to grow their power, voice and confidence.

I’ve worked for over two decades in large corporate environments, boutique firms and startups, driving large-scale sales, marketing & community initiatives with creative passion and a growth mindset. My experiences allowed me to cultivate thriving teams and organizational success across industries and geographies.

My passion for community led me to build a side hustle called Shalon, an ongoing series of gourmet dinner events curated to drive vital conversations that connect, educate and inspire participants.

I grew up in Colorado, spent time in Atlanta, Paris and New York and currently live in San Francisco with my husband, son and dog. I love reading, dancing, hiking (in the wild and urban), cooking & eating.
