About Leanne Shear:

Leanne has always been the consummate connector of women and the embodiment of female empowerment, so it’s very fitting that her first company’s motto was “Strong Women Uplift Each Other.” That enterprise was Uplift, a progressive fitness studio, female society, and female empowerment consultancy.

When she closed Uplift in 2019, Leanne moved on to create a robust (and wonderful!) business/Executive coaching practice, where she works with individual women and small groups. She also currently consults with various companies and organizations across a variety of functions, including strategy, operations, project management, and content/communications. Leanne also ghostwrites for a select number of clients: a recent book deal on that front is the forthcoming inspirational memoir of a female founder in fitness tech, to be published in early 2024 by Post Hill Press.

The foundation: Leanne is the author of ‘The Perfect Manhattan’ and ‘Cocktail Therapy: The Perfect Prescription for Life’s Many Crises,’ and her writing has also been featured in ‘The Nation’, ‘The New York Times’, and ‘New York’ magazine, among others. She graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania and received a Master’s degree in Women’s Studies and Cultural Politics from New York University.

About Baily Hancock:

Baily Hancock is a connector, collaborator, and catalyst for community. She’s confident that community, connection, and collaboration (or as she calls them, “The 3 Cs to Saving Humanity”) are the keys to our survival as a species, as well as the quickest way to feel less alone in this world and succeed together. Most people get why “The 3 Cs” are important in theory, but lack the understanding of how to actually build community, connect with others, and collaborate vs compete – that’s where Baily comes in.

As a Community Architect and Strategist, she helps individuals and organizations conceptualize, launch, and grow successful communities, acting as a guide from idea to implementation to iteration, and everything in between. Baily combines her MBA and operations mindset with three decades of experience both running communities and being a member of many to offer a well-rounded perspective on what makes communities and the people within them thrive.

During her time as a Community Strategist at Mighty Networks, Baily supported hundreds of Community Creators with setting goals and measuring effectiveness, problem-solving and brainstorming new ideas, and acted as their trusted sounding board and Strategist. She also facilitated workshops, masterminds, and product training sessions to help people learn how to run successful communities and understand the intricacies and possibilities of the community-hosting platform.

Baily now runs her own company called Overlap Collective offering 1:1 consulting, Blueprints, Playbooks, and workshop facilitation. She shares her thoughts and expertise on community, connection, and collaboration as a podcast guest and speaker, as well as in her keynote talk, Substack, podcast, and book-in-progress all by the same name, “Seeking the Overlap: Connecting Deeply in a Deeply Disconnected World

About Paige Ray:

Paige Ray is the owner and founder of Paige Ray Creative, a visual studio specializing in stand-out photo, video and website design. Paige calls herself a creative catalyst because she lights the creative fire for iconic brands. From photography to design to writing, Paige has 20 years of industry experience, and her work has been published in The Huffington Post, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Glamour (Paris), and more. She won 1st Place for the U.S. at the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards, and has exhibited her personal work at PhotoLA. Find out more about PRC at paigeray.com or on IG at @paigeraycreative.

About Emily Merrell:

I’m Chief Networker and Founder of Second Degrees Society. People also (lovingly) refer to me as “20 questions” because I’ve always loved figuring out people’s stories. While working in the fashion industry, I dreamt up a place where individuals could come together from all industries, all backgrounds and show up who they are — unapologetically. Nothing makes me happier connecting people who could mutually make each other’s lives more enjoyable.

In addition to Six Degrees Society, I also work with companies, founders, and solopreneurs who are looking to build a strong community of their own, plan events that inspire and develop partnerships that move the needle.
